JAKISUMU
Beloved Patriotic Kenyans,
Early in the morning before the national flag is hoisted, my parents who retired from civil service braves in a burning hope and indeed they wonder why their skeleton salaries were heavily taxed at the expense of nation building…..
Why did our dear government formulate an authority (KRA) that would ONLY target the poor but escort the big bellied Mps with a 100% clean salary and extra honorariums in building their own empires a waiting for the next elections?. Folks, we cant keep languishing in abject poverty while your member of parliament dance the fantasy of being in a secluded building. We have to challenge them come floods, snow falls, sunshine….
We should come to terms that this so called body of Kenya Revenue Authority has failed miserably and if its mandate is to deplete the poor folks wages, then we need to call for its de-registration forthwith. Lets us be more realistic enough, if your MP is spending his/her income in paying out mortgages, cars and entertainments, then why would we not commend our learned Professors at the Universities and other research Institutes to use part of their income in documenting their efforts? Of importance, why would we allow World Bank, IMF and other multi-lateral aid agencies continue allocating funds in efforts to build Kenya whose MPs have lost hope or lack interest in? The late Nyerere had seen this vision in Kenya and termed it a man eat man society.
Al-ash, did that saying thrive in deaf ears? Now that the anger is burning is us, we need to call a STOP to all foreign aid to Kenya, create dialogue with business entrepreneurs to stop paying taxes so that they too enjoy their toil.
I believe we have a bigger voice than that of a few individuals seated in Parliament. We need to re-shape Kenya and bring back that lost trust and glory. Yes together we can move mountains. From the hilltops of mt. Kenya, south to the giant fresh waters of Lake Victoria, west to Rivers Yala and Nzoia and to the dry/arid regions of North Eastern province….yes we can….We all need to come and petition at this time World Bank, IMF to stop giving loans to Kenya which in turn shall be paid back by a primary school teacher, watchman, nurse and driver who cannot sustain himself but to solidly depend on loans with high interest rates.
Was this the miracle that migosi Kalonzo had, could it be the ODM and PNU vision for goodies that were a waiting. Could this tax blade be compared to that young innocent citizen who lost his life during 2007 elections? Please folks in the parliament give us a brake.
You have made us hate one another on tribal grounds while running in your campaign trails….please, promise that from December 2008, while serving your electorates diligently you will be a responsible MP in paying your taxes. Can you as a member of Parliament acknowledge that even the Church Pastors do pay tithes and offerings…… Oh no may God have mercy on you.
NOTE: Our dear NGOs have as always submitted their returns to Revenue Authorities and we see the impact of such activities in every region., then why NOT your MP?
Stand up- YES TOGETHER WE CAN….
