Ochieng's article if read carefully raises important issues about Africa's history.

The "Ka" place prefix in nilotic languages and the migration stories of the Nilotes and other Africans from Misr or Kaptah (egypt) should be explored further by our historians.

Many African peoples have similar religious practices to ancient Misr and even state their migrations from there.

Of course the eurocentric establishment (Black & white) have various reasons for discouraging such Pan African undertakings.

We Africans will detribalize themselves by appreciating our classical history of which ancient Kemet/Hekaptah/eggypt is most outstanding.

As for President Obama, his writings reveal clearly his thoughts on who he is:

As a black man, he knows his roots in Africa but we Africans should not rest on an individual's achievements or expect one man, great as he may be to save us.

We all need to study our situation and work for solutions to our needless poverty.

GOOD FOR SOMETHING GOOD
"In tradition, the Luo divided humanity into three categories – Joluo (the noblest), Jolang’o and Jomwa. The rest of mankind were Mwa, worse than useless." Philip Ochieng.

This is not a good part of the Obama story. How, for example, could the Luo attempt to marry from different ethnic groups of the human race and then term them "Mwa, worse than useless"? If you can love them, then they are good. That is what I know about the Luo.

The term "Mwa" has nothing to do with one being "Useful" or "Useless" to a Luo person.

Perhaps, it was the way people called themselves. Thus, "Mwache", plural of the term “Mwa” has its stem word "Mwa", found in Bantu speaking people.

We find words such as "Omundu", "Mtu" "Mwananchi", "Mwakenya"; words referring to people who are without a doubt NOT "worse than useless".

Barack Obama is about people who are good for something good. That is what we are celebrating now in America.
