I am called Erasto Agwanda Saye, I am a journalist based in Kisumu, I am sure you know me as I have covered nearly all your functions whenever you are either in Nyanza or Western Provinces since 1997 when you contested the Presidency for the first time..
Madame, was there recently resolutions in regard to food security committee chaired by His Excellency President Mwai Kibaki that the government unveils water distribution projects in famine stricken areas in Eastern Province ? why was our beloved Kisumu city left out yet it is in Intensive Care Unit in regard to water provision?
Waziri, my fellow journalists who attended the function whispered to me that you were given kshs 678 million to fund emergency water projects in; Rift Valley, North Eastern and Eastern provinces, surprisingly Nyanza in general and Kisumu in particular was never included despite the town’s residents blocking all the roads and sending members of a particular tribe within the area away when you people claimed that “you were robbed by PNU of victory after winning the 2007 general elections”.
Madame, are you aware that your ministry officials are giving you lip services and peddling falsehood in regard to luck of water within Kisumu city?
Mama Rainbow, I am resident of his town, I stay in Kisumu with my young family, for the entire period I have stayed there water is as mystery as a Catholic’s priest wedding.
Waziri, are you aware that only three top senior Provincial Administrators, police officers and leading Asian businessmen within the city are the only beneficiaries of water services provision within the city at the expense of the ignored mass who not only take contaminated water but water unfit for human consumption? If you doubt me talk to any mkamba residing within this town, they are so many as they usually deal in tyres within.
Madame Waziri, Are you aware that water situation within the town is so so so pathetic that only two per cent of the city’s residents get water?
Waziri, Need I bring to your attention that the constant cholera outbreaks within the city are usually due to luck of NOT only clean water but water in general? if again you doubt me, refer to both Nyanza Provincial Public Health Officer Dr Johnsone Kioko or his medical counterpart Dr Odhiambo Lusi.
Waziri can you recall that last year before you commissioned the second phase of the multi-billion French government funded water project in Kisumu, I called you a night before and told you that you were being duped into the said commissioning of the project? I can recall you telling me to remind you of the same the following day which I did and even gave you Kisumu City’s residents petition in regard to the commissioning in front of the entire leadership of both Kisumu Water Services Company and Lake Victoria Water Services Board Company.

Madame Waziri, ask any resident of Kisumu if they have seen water flowing within there tapes for the last three years, are you aware that the following residential estates still lucks water in spite of you having commissioned the second phase of the water project?
Nyaamasaria,Bandani,Kibos,Otonglo,Nyalenda,Nyawita,Migosi,Kondele,Tom Mboya,,Jua Kali,Okore,Nubian,Brillina,Arina,Ondiek,Oguma Opiyo,Argwingsamongst the many residential houses within the city?
Waziri,to water services providers within the town, water only exists on their minds and constant reports they write to your ministry in regard to the water condition within the area, if you doubt me ask your three parliamentary colleagues who resides within the city;Olago Aluoch,Shakeel Shabbir and Fred Outah.
Lastly Waziri, you have so many of your admirers within this city whom I would not wish you to loose their support due to some few saboteurs within the ministry who wants you to be perceived as failure in the, they have told me to tell you that there is looming demonstration for both you and the personnel charged with giving them water as they are wholly convinced that it is you who has failed them and not people tasked with giving them water.
To summarize my letter to you, the only way to selvedge many mothers and children who are constantly always affected by lack of clean water is to appoint new people to run bodies mandated to provide water to the area’s residents who are your loyalists and voters.
I do hope to hear from you or your Public Relations Officer in regard to the issues I have raised to you.
Yours Faithfully,
Agwanda Saye
