MODERN COUNTRY LODGE TAKES KISUMU BY STORM.

With the recent assurance given to Kisumu residents by Deputy Minister and Local Government Minister Musalia Mudavadi in Kisumu recently that the town will soon receive its city status once the cabinet approves a proposal by the Local Government Ministry through although the town was elevated to city status in 2001,many investors are thronging the city in regard to hotel industries to target the many visitors and tourists who will be thronging the town through its international airport which is now under construction.
The latest hotel industry entrant within the town to join Imperial and Sunset hotels which has enjoyed the monopoly of the hotel industry within the region is Le Savanna Country Lodge and Hotel which is an OGRA (a Non-Governmental Organization based in Kisumu) owned Foundation Social Enterprise.
According to the lodges Director and United Kingdom educated scholar Dr. Hezron Obewa, the lodge is one of its own kind and origin within the western part of Kenya, which is truly evidenced upon ones visit to the lodge which is situated between the middle class residential estates of USAID and Robert Ouko estates.

Once inside one is surprised as the entire compound is cemented and all the eighteen en-suites fitted with complimentary high-speed wireless are all tiled, real neat and clean.
The lodges location is really convenient, safe and secure with ample parking as evidenced by this writer, Le Savanna is seven minutes away from Kisumu Airport and five minutes away from the main high street where multiple shopping options are available and easily accessed.

Asked what they offer when one wants to have a Kisumu and Western Kenya experienced Obewa says that Le Savanna Country and Hotel Lodge can take one for a day trip to spot lions, rhino spectacular flocks of flamingo in Lake Nakuru National Park, just two hours away from Kisumu, explore and trek the unique habitat of African monkeys in Kakamega Rainforest.
On top of all that one can relax by boat and see the hippos as the sun sets over Lake Victoria on our doorstep, besides one can also visit the family village of US President Barrack Obama,we also arrange trips to Maasa Mara,Serengeti and to the East African Coast Obewa added.
As I leave Le Savanna I concur and admit that indeed it is a striking piece of architectural design with its cutting edge appeal ,the first that dared to be different in Kisumu,home to two hundred Non Governmental Organization offices and Kenyans third city and the only United Nations appointed Millennium city in Africa.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackWe,as luo must start thinking positively how to take investment matters seriously inorder to reduce poverty in our mids.This will definitely reduce dependance syndrome which our politicians have been encouraging among youth and able men.We need to encourage our people to direct our energy on economic sphere within our areas.
The luo from diaspora and local should become bold enough to invest in kisumu inoder to exploit the abudant resources in nyanza to create employments. It does not make sense to expect other kenyans
to bring investments in kisumu while kisumu residents are just spectors.There is high time for our farmers to start making use of many rivers which pass through luoland for small time irrigation inoder to produce agricultural products for our people.We can’t be proud if we are fed by outside while we have unexploited resources within our rich in luoland.Let us make use of rivers and land in luo to take care of food security. Our leaders should preach this message.
There are many sons and daughters of luos in diapora who can bring economic change if they become positive towards luoland economic developments instead of scheming all the time how to become mps.Let us involve ourselves into economic ventures like what Dr.Obewa and Dr.Ron are doing. It is a great challenge which we should copy positively.
